So here’s how it goes. I meet someone new, we smile, we chat—when suddenly they stop mid-sentence, cock their head, squint their eyes.
“Are your glasses upside-down?” Yes, I say. And no.
From then on, I’m known as “the one with the upside-down glasses.” Which is great because, like my specs, I am not always quite as I seem. I see and do things differently. When it comes to smart design, that’s exactly the kind of vision it takes to stand out. And leave a lasting impression.
Every day I strive for a fresh perspective. As a creative director and graphic designer at Glantz Design, I lead talented teams of designers, writers, and developers who keep me on my toes. I also run SheSays Chicago, a community dedicated to mentoring women in the creative and marketing industries with a goal of seeing more women at the top. Mentorship runs deep with me, as I am on the Board of Directors as Mentor Chair for AIGA Chicago, and I speak to designers across the state on the Power of Networking and Discovering Your Superpower.
How do you see things differently?
